About Joy
Joy has over 32 years of experience in business and community service activities. She began her career with UPS in 1983 as a part-time package handler in Richmond, VA and is now is the Operations Manager, Chesapeake South.
She has led the Chesapeake Districts' Women's Leadership Development group for the past 8 years. Activities for the WLD group have included guest speakers, book reviews, the creation of mentoring program, financial planning for women, volunteer and networking events.
Joy also heads a "community" grant committee for distribution of monies from the UPS Foundation. She is a Toqueville member of the United Way of Central Maryland and also chaired the Unite Way Campaign for the Chesapeake District for 2014 with a goal of $2.9 million dollars.
As a committed community member, Joy personally supports The Education Foundation of BCPS with the understanding and belief that the education of our youth is the most important component of a successful society.
Joy has been a resident of and has worked in Baltimore County for the past 26 years. In Joy's words, "In order to maintain this status and to include all neighborhoods and schools, I believe that the private sector must contribute."
