BCPS School Supply Drive to Start Monday, July 25

Have you seen the commercials? Gotten the fliers? Noticed the advertisements?

If you haven’t, here’s what you’ve been missing: It’s almost back-to-school season, which means it’s time to start buying school supplies!

Starting Monday, July 25, Baltimore County Public Schools will hold a supply drive as part of its Back to School Involves You, Too! campaign in association with the Education Foundation of BCPS. For three weeks – through Friday, Aug. 12, the school system will accept donations at drop-off locations throughout the county to prepare its students for the new year.

BCPS invites community members, area businesses, and local organizations to participate in the drive. To donate school supplies, visit:

  • Boscov’s at White Marsh Mall
  • Office Depot stores at:

Though donors may provide any school supplies, the most-needed items are colored pencils or markers, crayons, glue sticks, marble composition notebooks, pencils, pocket folders, socks, and underwear.

In addition, the employees of SunTrust Bank, Merrill Lynch’s Dulaney Center II location, Phillips Way in Finksburg, Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP, and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company are contributing to the drive. Other businesses and organizations also can join the drive by collecting donations from customers, employees, and visitors. Since 2014, the BCPS supply drive has been an annual tradition in the school system’s Back to School Involves You, Too! campaign. Designed to garner community support for BCPS students and schools, the campaign has included special contests, BCPS-TV programming, Parent University workshops, and more.
