College Scholarship Opportunities

Are you thinking about furthering your education after graduation?  Maybe you want to attend a two-year school?  A trade school?  Or a four year college or university?  Each month, in the Education Foundation e-newsletter, we will be providing you with scholarship opportunities that you might want to consider and apply.

The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc., provides support for continuous growth and success of Baltimore County Public Schools students and their families.  Our funds are designated to support district-wide initiatives (S.T.A.T. – Students and Teacher Accessing Tomorrow), 21st Century Instructional Initiative Grants and Scholarships.  The scholarship program provides our students with resources to attend post-secondary education facilities.

During the 2015-2016 school year, the foundation will award two $1,000.00 scholarships to every comprehensive high school in Baltimore County.  The focus for this school year will be:

  • Business, Economic, Entrepreneurial and Financial Literacy (BEEF)
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)

Northrop Grumman Engineering Scholarship

The Northrop Grumman Scholars program will award a $10,000 scholarship over the course of four years ($2,500 per year with ongoing eligibility requirements) to one graduating high school student in each Maryland county and Baltimore City.  Each scholarship winner will be invited to a celebration dinner at the close of the school year, where he/she will be recognized by Dr. Jack R. Smith, state superintendent of schools and Ms. Kathy Warden, president, Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems. The application may be obtained here.

The deadline for scholarship applications is Wednesday, February 3, 2016.

Maryland Retired School Personnel Association (MRSPA) Scholarship Program

The Maryland Retired School Personnel Association (MRSPA) through its MRSPA fund, is offering three $2,000 scholarship to public school employees in Maryland who are enrolled in a program leading to teacher certification.  The scholarship is also available to certified teacher who are pursuing certification in another area.
