EVENT UPDATE | STATE OF THE SCHOOLS 2020

The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools cancels State of the Schools

Out of an abundance of caution, The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools has canceled the  State of the Schools 2020 event at Towson University’s SECU Arena. It was scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2020.  The decision was made in collaboration with Baltimore County Public Schools and Towson University. In the near future.

State of the Schools is an annual celebration that features student presentations and performances. It also includes an address from BCPS Superintendent Dr. Darryl L. Williams to the community.

The foundation appreciates the opportunity to showcase the excellent programs throughout Baltimore County Public Schools and looks forward to hosting this celebration later in the year.

Poised For Greatness

The annual State of the Schools, is the signature event of The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc.  It provides an opportunity for the superintendent of Baltimore County Public Schools, Dr. Darryl L. Williams, to celebrate our talented leaders and staff, and richly diverse students.  The core of our mission is high-quality instruction that prepares students for college and career through a positive climate.  We thrive with the support of a dynamic community including you!  The fundraising efforts provide resources for our students and teachers, making an impact on their opportunity to become productive citizens in our society.  These resources are awarded through grants, scholarships, and districtwide initiatives.

We at The Education Foundation of Baltimore are honored to serve as the bridge between our partners who continuously support our schools, and Team BCPS who find new and innovative ways to learn and explore.  As our school partnerships grow, we witness the ever-changing benefits received in the school community.

When we speak of partners, we speak of our ambassadors in the community who recognize our children as the future.  Through their act of giving, they help prepare our students to embrace the challenges ahead.  They not only give generously but also provide support through positive enthusiasm and authentic care for the programs we fund.

The inaugural Learning Walk of Knowledge made its debut at the State of the Schools 2018. What is a Learning Walk of Knowledge, you may ask? It is a place where you can meet student directors, engineers, composers, carpenters, designers, robotic technicians, musicians, scientists, homeland security planners, environmental stewards, manufacturers, videographers, first responders in training, project managers, dancers, and artists.

It’s a place where the future can be seen through innovative young minds under the leadership of talented educators.

In the words of the foundation's past president, Douglas Eder, “Our mission and goals are to invest in teaching and learning, by mobilizing the community to fund activities and programs that align with Baltimore County Public Schools’ vision of a successful and bright future for every student.”

We would like to thank all who made last year's State of the Schools 2019 and the Learning Walk of Knowledge possible; educators, advisors, students, logistic support, community partners, dedicated program directors and many, many more.
