Parenting Tip of the Week:
When planning summer vacations, include children in the discussion
Hope you enjoyed the wonderful weather we had over the weekend. It got us thinking about the summer. If you are planning a family getaway, consider involving children as part of the discussion. The Baltimore Sun shared a photo gallery of 100 day trip getaways worth pondering.
Here’s a list of Parent University events happening soon.

A weekly memo from the superintendent
Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with all principals during my quarterly development meeting. I shared the Board’s adoption of the 2018 operating budget.
My teacher and student advisory councils also met with me last week as well. I enjoy our discussions and getting their input on a variety of topics.
This week, I will be meeting with my Business Advisory Council, a group of business leaders within the community who are important Team BCPS partners. Meeting with them allows me to gain feedback on critical issues and discuss how we can best work together on behalf of the school system.
Take care,
Dr. Dance
