Tee Off for TEAM BCPS Inaugural Golf Classic
The inaugural Golf Classic of The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc. will be held once again at the beautiful Greystone Golf Course, 2115 White Hall Road, White Hall, Maryland 21161, on Friday, October 14, 2016, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Greystone Golf Course was designed by Joe Lee, architect of Doral Resort’s famed Blue Monster and the courses at Walt Disney World. Greystone Golf Course is a true masterpiece in layout, challenge, and entertainment. This championship course includes 140 feet of elevation changes and features seven ponds and more than 80 bunkers. The tall hardwood trees, wetlands, and native vegetation add an abundance of character to the design. Greystone’s tees, greens, and fairways are all preferred bent grass, and all are expertly maintained by the outstanding turf management staff. Just picture yourself and your business partners and friends on this beautiful golf course, on an October autumn day.
On Friday, the inaugural day of the 2016 Golf Classic, we will begin with a golf registration and a driving range warm-up at 10:30 a.m., a competitive putting contest from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., a welcome and announcements at 11:50 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:00 noon. A deluxe luncheon will be available upon arrival in the clubhouse or on the course. Golf registration includes the following: deluxe lunch in the clubhouse or on the course, unlimited beverage cart with premium beer, all beef hot dogs at the 9th, a gift bag filled with a variety of items and a commemorative framed photo of each golfers group. This year we will be hosting an inaugural cocktail reception (open bar, premium beer and wine) followed with a Sunset Dinner where awards will be presented. Board members, Mr. Phillip Martien (President/CEO Phillips Way) and Mr. Gary Berger (President/CEO HMS Insurance) will serve as the co-chairs for our inaugural event, along with committee members, Ms. Joy Howard (Director of Operations, Chesapeake South Regional Manager, UPS) and Mr. Kip Hollar (Outreach Coordinator and Sustainability Ambassador, Community Relations Department, Chesapeake South, UPS), Mr. Tim Bojanowski (Principal, Zest Social Media Solutions, LLC), Mrs. Paula Carter Reed, National Director, Education Partnerships, Discovery Education and Mr. Robert Barrett (Executive Officer, BCPS Community/Business Outreach).
If you are unable to golf that day or would like your significant other and friends to join you for networking and the inaugural Cocktail Reception, Sunset Dinner and the Awards Ceremony we provide that opportunity as well. Registration required with the cost being $75.00.
What a perfect way to end a busy work week participating in a tournament and networking filled with camaraderie and memorable moments. Your support will enhance the lives of deserving students in our community with resources to further their education and obtain knowledge and skills needed to be globally competitive. Monies raised will become 21st Century Instructional Initiative Grants opportunities for our schools and Scholarship opportunities for our students, elementary, middle and high school.
