GIVE

Why Give?

The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc. solicits, manages, and distributes supplemental funds for innovative programs and initiatives and to fund school supplies for classrooms and health and wellness resources for schools in support of students' educational readiness.  We work collaboratively with the school system to provide the highest quality 21st-century education for all BCPS students, providing necessary tools for learning in a positive culture and climate in every school.

All funds awarded are aligned with the Superintendent’s priorities as to what is best for all of our students in every neighborhood and every school across Baltimore County.

Funding is supplemental and does not replace or alter the use of tax-based revenue.  The Foundation provides, under federal and state laws, an appropriate method to solicit charitable contributions in support of students, families, teachers, and schools.

Contribute to our United Way Campaign!

Each year, individuals and businesses make donations to the United Way of Central Maryland, many through The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc. For 100 years, United Way has worked with leading health and human service providers across the region to identify the most effective strategies to improve the lives of families in poverty. United Way of Central Maryland works with local partners to support health and human services that help people to overcome crisis, stay out of poverty and achieve high-quality, self-sufficient lives. Your support can make an impact helping families throughout central Maryland and within Baltimore County who are facing poverty to obtain access to housing, healthy affordable food and health care, and quality education.

Support for Students & Families

Your generosity impacts the 115,000+ BCPS students with a poverty level of nearly 50% free and reduced meal population (as self-reported by families of Baltimore County) and approximately 3000 students in homeless situations.  BCPS students attend one of the 175 schools, programs, and centers that provides the support for continuous growth and success.

Your generosity affords the opportunity for students to have the necessary school supplies and health and wellness accessories and resources supported by the delivery of quality instruction to impact their educational readiness.

Your generosity provides the opportunity to further a student’s education by applying for post-secondary scholarships to attend 2- , 4-year colleges and universities and trade and technical schools to obtain the knowledge and necessary skills to become productive citizens.  Scholarships are provided through The Education Foundation Scholarship Fund Program and The Education Foundation Private Scholarship Program.

Support for Teachers & Schools

Your generosity impacts the nearly 10,000 BCPS teachers in the 175 schools, programs, and centers by providing a collaborative teacher resource center to obtain free school supplies and winter accessories, health and wellness resources, and books.  A center where teachers can come together to build collegiality and obtain and reinforce knowledge through learning experiences.

Your generosity provides the opportunity to acquire financial support for teachers and schools to apply for 21st Century Instructional Initiative Grants and office-based/school-based projects that address one or more 21st-century themes that are aligned to the District’s priorities.    Funding is supplemental and does not replace or alter the use of tax-based revenue.

Who Gives?

Throughout the year, gifts are received from corporations, national and community businesses – large and small, foundations, alumnae and alumni, teachers, parents, and friends and neighbors just like you. The gifts allow us to provide funds that are aligned to the District's curriculum and strategic plan, Blueprint 2.0: Our Way Forward, to enhance, extend and enrich the excellence within Baltimore County Public Schools, and to provide to an Endowment Fund.  Programs will be funded from donations as well as from a percent of the Endowment Fund.  Your gift, no matter the size or the amount is an important investment in Baltimore County Public Schools.
