The Education Foundation of BCPS Scholarship Program

Up to three (3) $1,000.00 scholarships are awarded to students who attend BCPS comprehensive high schools in each of the three zones (East, Central and West) within Baltimore County for a total of nine (9) $1,000 scholarship awards.  Additional private scholarships awarded through selected funds are also awarded to BCPS students through independent submission and review.

For scholarships awarded directly by The Education Foundation of BCPS, Inc., the focus for the 2022-2023 scholarship funds are based on the following areas:  Business, Economic, Entrepreneurial and Financial Literacy (BEEF) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).  The competitive selection process is based on student essay, academic performance (high school transcript and SAT/ACT Scores), resume (including service) and two (2) letters of reference (one character reference and one academic reference).

BEEF and STEM scholarship opportunities can be accessed through Naviance.

BCPS students who apply must meet the following eligibility and qualification criteria:

  • Must be a current senior in a Baltimore County Public School
  • A minimum unweighted grade point average of 3.0 or higher and provide a transcript and SAT/ACT Scores
  • Provide verification of acceptance to an accredited two- or four-year college
  • Complete The Education of Foundation of BPC Scholarship Fund application and personally write the Scholarship Application Essay

The application must be delivered to the student’s high school counselor on or before, March 24, 2023.  Late application will not be accepted.  If the deadline is extended for any reason, it will be the decision of The Education Foundation of BCPS, Inc.

The selection committee weighs all criteria – but weighs more on the essay.  Those students who offer new applications of their learning that add value to the human experience are given special consideration.

In order to select the scholarship recipients from each zone, the application of the selected candidates from each school are reviewed by The Education Foundation Scholarships and Grants Committee or a designated subcommittee using a blind review process.  Scholarship recipients selected by the Scholarship and Grant Committee will be recommended to the Education Foundation Board of Directors for final approval.

Recipients are those who received both STEM (Science, Technology, Mathematics & Engineering) and BEEF (Business, Economics, Entrepreneur, & Finance) scholarships directly from the foundation as well as private philanthropic donor scholarships that are managed within the foundation’s framework will be recognized.

The Education Foundation of BCPS, Inc. wishes to congratulate the graduating class of 2023.  We celebrate you; we wish you wonderful days ahead and invite you to come back and tell us your stories.

Congratulations to The Education Foundation of BCPS, Inc. Scholarship Recipients for 2021-2022!
