Supporting BCPS Students in Their Life Journeys: From the Education Foundation of BCPS, Inc.

School may be ending for the summer, but our good news continues.

This year, The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc. was proud to award 170+ scholarships totally nearly $44,000 in awarded funding to graduated seniors as they further their education towards secondary education opportunities.  For several years the Foundation has awarded scholarships in the BEEF (Business, Economic, Entrepreneurial and Financial Literacy) & STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).  This year, the foundation has awarded 9 scholarships in the BEEF/STEM category.  In addition, 29 Private Philanthropic Donor Scholarships have also been awarded.  We are proud to say that community partnerships continues to grow as this year, we have established The Pikesville High School Class of 1969 Arnold Potler Memorial Scholarship as well as scholarships that extended from the foundation’s RISE campaign, the HBCU Book Scholarship, which was established specifically for books and learning resources. In total 16 students received the HBCU Book Scholarship.

In addition, the foundation looks forward to extending new scholarships to BCPS students in the 2021-2022 school year called, Lead for Tomorrow in Education Scholarship, which was recently established by BCPS Principals in collaboration with the foundation.  The purpose of the Lead for Tomorrow in Education Scholarship is to encourage motivated, well-qualified BCPS graduates to enter a career in K-12 education.  It will support BCPS efforts to increase a highly effective, diverse workforce that is representative of our demographics.  In addition, the scholarship award will provide a platform to recruit and retain qualified candidates who in the future, will promote employee growth and development of those already living in Baltimore County, ensuring the potential to continue to provide quality educators in our schools.

Through continuous support from our community partners, these scholarships have been made possible, enabling our students to transition towards their next steps in becoming global citizens.

Our heartfelt congratulations go out to the following students:
