Congratulations New Grant Ambassadors!

Congratulations to the most recent grant award recipients of Baltimore County Public Schools.  The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc. is proud to announce that 10 elementary schools have been awarded an Excellence in Education Grant, provided in partnership with Jeanne Murphy, Founder and Karen Grannas, COO, of Open Door Before and After School Care.  The grant awards reflect the commitment between community partners and educators to elevate learning by expanding programs and broadening curriculum outside allocated funding.

Open Door Before and After School Care has partnered with The Education Foundation of BCPS through the past in several capacities like; the Back to School Involves You Too Campaign, State of the Schools and New Teacher Orientation  However, the Excellence in Education Grants are the most recent initiatives that impact the classroom.  These Grants, totaling $30,000 have the potential to sustain original opportunities, inspire new thought and encourage creativity beyond standard curriculum.  Because of Education Champions like Open Door, our community partnerships are growing.  This is due to the growing awareness of the impact they can have on our future generations.

We look forward to the roll out of the new programs our BCPS educators will be implementing over the next several months through their grant programs.  We also wish to thank all those who applied for the grants which took much time and research.

For anyone interested in obtaining information for a grant, the foundation is pleased to announce that the grant application process is now open.  These are $2000 grants which can be applied to all levels including Elementary, Middle and High School programs.  Applications can be found on the foundation Web site.
