It Rained. Our Ambassadors Shined!
Friday the 13th delivered cloudy skies, blustery winds and misty rain. In the midst of the autumn weather, the business community brought their smiles and goodwill to Greystone Golf Course to Tee Off for TEAM BCPS, raising funds for grants, projects and scholarships awarded by The Education Foundation of BCPS, Inc. for schools and offices.
Joining the golfers were Mr. Kevin Smith, Chief Administrative and Operations Officer, honorary co-chair of the event, and Ms. Verletta White, Interim Superintendent. Also included as an honorary co-chair was Mr. Kevin Kamenetz, County Executive, Baltimore County Government. Enthusiasm was contagious as Ms. White visited with golfers on the course, exchanging introductions and handshakes as she greeted golfers while traveling via golf cart to tee boxes, fairways and greens.
A new addition to this year’s event included aerial footage of the senior sponsors; Johnson Controls, Oak Contracting and Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, golfers in action, provided by Multivista. To document one of the competitions, drones captured live footage of the hole-in-one green.
The day was completed with an awards reception, recognizing top scores, longest drives and closest to the pin. To top it off, a silent auction delivered wonderful prizes while raising additional funds.
Gratitude extends to all sponsors, volunteers and staff who made the event possible. The event’s success is attributed to the committed efforts of Gary Berger, President, HMS Insurance Associates and Phillip Martin, President, Phillips Way who co-chaired the Golf Committee as well as Silent Auction Co-Chairs Meredith Jones, of Lakeshore Learning Materials and Shayla Myers of Johnson Controls. Finally, we would like to thank the staff at Greystone Golf Course for their hospitality, especially Bob Mokros and Wendy Ayres.
