Mission Moment: Towson 4 on the 4th Four Mile Run and 1776 Family Fun Run
Grab your running shoes! It’s time to get ready for the 2nd annual 4 on the 4th Four Mile Run.
It’s a celebration for everyone! Parents & teachers, students & principals, BCPS sports teams, community members & business partners, ALL can tie up their laces and stretch their legs. The race takes place on July 4th in the heart of Towson right before the historic Towson 4th of July Parade.
Race your way around the parade route, beautiful neighborhoods and Towson University. Finish in front of the grandstand to meet your family and friends. If you’re not a runner, but would still like to participate, you can take a stroll and join the 1776 Family Fun Run, or even volunteer to assist with race day duties. If you’d like to become a sponsor and take the opportunity to support a good cause, several levels are offered.
Last year the 2016 race attracted nearly 300 participants of all ages and abilities. It’s a great way to enjoy a beautiful day with others and celebrate our great nation.
Honored guests include the Mistress of Ceremonies Denise Koch of WJZ-TV and the Official Race Starter Dr. Kim Schatzel, President of Towson University. ALSO, come meet the Towson Tiger for our pre-race program and warm up, starting at 8:30 a.m.
Compared to last year, you can expect:
- Less turns on the 4 mile run
- Gildan tech running shirts and larger medals for all participants
- A more friendly and flatter Fun Run route
- More pre-race facilities and activities.
