National School Counseling Week gives Team BCPS opportunities to celebrate staff

Glenmar Elementary school counselor Jessica Platt received a surprise: A poster covered in suns that said, “We shine because of you.” This gift, featuring artwork by Glenmar PreK students came during National School Counseling Week.

Throughout Team BCPS, we celebrated National School Counseling Week in many ways.  Check out our latest Exposure post for more details. A sincere thank you to all the dedicated BCPS school counselors for all they do.

So far, more than 40,000 Team BCPS students, staff, parents, and community members have taken the Stakeholder Survey. That’s a great response for the first week! Please make sure you take a few minutes to provide us with valuable feedback about how we are doing. Follow this link for the survey. Learn more about the survey here.

Correspond-DANCE

A weekly memo from the superintendent

Dear Team BCPS:

Team BCPS was honored to host, for the second time this year, a delegation of educators from China. Our visitors were from the Tongzhou district of Beijing. I want to thank the students, staff, and the administrators at Sudbrook Magnet Middle, Catonsville Middle, and Catonsville Elementary for the outstanding welcome they gave our visitors. The members of the Chinese delegation were impressed with the excellent teaching and learning taking place in classrooms.

Members from the Office of Staffing are planning the Baltimore County Public Schools Teacher and Job Fair Expo to be held Saturday, March 25, at the Radisson Hotel North Baltimore in Timonium. The focus of the expo is to recruit teachers for all subject areas.

This week, I am looking forward to meeting with the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council and Teacher Advisory Council to gain valuable feedback.

Take care,

Dr. Dance
