Boscov’s Back to School Festival to be bigger than ever

Department store also to collect needed items for students

Boscov’s department store at White Marsh Mall is joining with the Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools to host a second annual Back to School Festival on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The resource festival, which will be held on the store’s lower parking lot, will feature the BCPS Parentmobile (a parent resource center on a retrofitted school bus), the Baltimore County Public Library’s bookmobile, activities for children, information tables about community resources, food, fun, and prize drawings.

The festival is part of the school system’s annual Back to School Involves You, Too! Campaign which invites community stakeholders to join in celebrating the start of a new school year and helping students and their parents prepare for it.

In addition to the festival, Boscov’s is participating in the Back to School Involves You, Too! drive to collect new school supplies, socks, and underwear for BCPS students in need. Items can be dropped off at boxes throughout the store from Monday, July 25, through Friday, August 12.

For information about the supply drive (including other dropoff locations) and as well as a calendar of this year’s Back to School Involves You, Too! activities and events, go to www.bcps.org/teamBCPS/btsiyt/.

With 44 stores in seven states, Boscov’s is the largest family-owned independent department store chain in the nation. The company is committed to the communities it serves and has a long and distinguished history of civic and charitable activities.

The Education Foundation of BCPS, Inc., is a nonprofit organization established to attract and direct public financial contributions to programs and activities of the school system in support of quality education for all children.
