Calling TEAM BCPS Partners

Be Part of the Recognition and Celebration

Every school year, in the spring, Baltimore County Public Schools recognizes and celebrates both teaching and learning (Teacher of the Year) and school leaders (Principals of the Year).   The program has grown tremendously as it now includes a ceremony and a reception to recognize all teachers and principals who have been nominated. It is an event that showcases the many talented teachers and leaders we have in Baltimore County Public Schools.

The Baltimore County Teacher of the Year Program, an affiliate of the Maryland Teacher of the Year Program and the National Teacher of the Year Program, shines the spotlight on outstanding teachers and the importance of the profession.  The Baltimore County Principal of the Year recognizes outstanding school leaders who create a culture of deliberate excellence for every student.  The selection criteria reflect the core values and goals of Blueprint 2.0, the ISLLC Standards, and the Maryland Instructional Leadership Framework. This year, a Principal of the Year will be announced at both the elementary and secondary level.

In order to make the event even better than last year, we are looking for TEAM BCPS partners. We hope to award not only the Teacher of the Year/Principal of the Year with a prize package that includes monetary donations, gift cards, electronics, teaching tools, etc., but also to have gifts for the finalists. Your contribution is an important one, whether it is a monetary donation to the overall event or a donation of prizes. Your contribution and support is announced in our media and press releases, at our special events, and in the event programs, as well as on The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc., and the Baltimore County Public Schools website and BCPS-TV. Each year, the ceremony also receives strong coverage by area television stations and newspapers.
