BCPS, Education Foundation, and Boscov’s team up to get you ready for back to school
TOWSON, MD. – The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools and Boscov’s department store in White Marsh are teaming up to host a special Back to School resource festival featuring the BCPS Parentmobile, craft tables for children, vendors, and prize drawings.
Part of the BCPS “Back to School Involves You, Too!” campaign, the festival will be held on Saturday, August 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lower parking lot of Boscov’s at White Marsh Mall, 8200 Perry Hall Boulevard, Perry Hall 21236.
“We’re delighted to be able to partner with Boscov’s to offer a variety of information and resources to help families and their children prepare for a great school year,” said Debbie Phelps, executive director of The Education Foundation. “We hope families will use this opportunity to ask questions, get information, learn about BCPS, and support our children as they head back to school on Monday, August 24.”
In addition to vendors, including the Baltimore County Public Library, Baltimore County Department of Aging (volunteering), Meals on Wheels, Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, and United Healthcare, visitors can board and explore the BCPS Parentmobile, a rolling, retrofitted school bus that provides a wealth of information about the county school system.
Guests also will be invited to contribute school supplies to an ongoing BCPS-sponsored collection drive. Those who contribute needed school supplies and/or visit the Parentmobile will receive tickets to be entered into drawings for a $50 Boscov’s gift card and for a backpack filled with school supplies.
With 43 stores in six states, Boscov’s is the largest family-owned independent department store chain in the nation. The company is committed to the communities it serves and has a long and distinguished history of civic and charitable activities.
