Mission Moment: Participate in Baltimore County Public Schools School Supply Drive

Baltimore County Public Schools is kicking off its annual Back to School Involves You, Too! campaign. The initiative is a reminder to our entire community that everyone – from retirees to elected officials to our business partners – has a stake in ensuring a successful start to the new school year.

This year, we hope you will join with our Back to School campaign in a meaningful and important way by participating in something that will benefit students directly. With your help as a business leader, BCPS seeks to collect school supplies for children across Baltimore County who need help getting ready for the school year, which begins for Baltimore County’s 112,139+ students on Tuesday, September 5.

Here’s how it will work: We’re asking you to encourage employees and customers to bring in school supplies to donate. Glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils or markers, pencils, pocket folders, and marble composition notebooks are the most common requests on school supply lists.

After you indicate your interest in participating, the Office of Communications will send you signage that you can post around your business. The supply donation drive will begin on July 25 and end on Sunday, August 13. We will pick up donated supplies August 14 – 18, or you can bring them to BCPS warehouse on those dates. This leaves us time to distribute the supplies to our teachers and schools before the school year begins.

To register your participation, please contact Diana Spencer, BCPS communications officer, at dspencer4@bcps.org. We’ll recognize and thank your company in news releases, on our website, and elsewhere.
