BCPS to welcome newest Team BCPS members at New Teacher Orientation
3-day activity to introduce 600 new teachers, professionals to school system
What: Baltimore County Public Schools will hold its annual New Teacher Orientation program – “Success from the Start”– to welcome hundreds of teachers and other school professionals new to Baltimore County’s classrooms. The three-day introduction to the school system welcomes new teachers and familiarizes them to BCPS as well as to the many aspects of teaching in Baltimore County. The event also features special guest speakers and school-based professional growth activities.
When: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily from Tuesday, August 11, through Thursday, August 13, 2015

Thursday, August 13:
Teachers will be engaged in professional development activities at their assigned home schools.
Background: For the first two days of the orientation, teachers will attend sessions on culturally proficient practice, classroom management curriculum, and other topics. On the last day, teachers will participate in a daylong orientation at their assigned schools.
