Through the program, students receive information about the skills required in careers related to STEM education – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In addition, the grant funding also will support the establishment of career- and financial literacy-related events for middle and high school students and their families. About a quarter of the funding will go to support S.T.A.T., the school system initiative that is integrating digital technology and learning into the curriculum and the classroom.
