MATT is getting bigger and growing stronger at Baltimore County Public Schools, thanks to Chimes Foundation.

Last year, The Education Foundation of BCPS applied for a grant specific to technology advancements and received the support of a generous contribution in the amount of $21,000 from Chimes Foundation.  The grant award is S.T.A.T (Students and Teachers Accessing Tomorrow) focused, and compliments BCPS’s goal to “provide for every student the highest quality 21st century education…to ensure that every student learns and succeeds, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, language proficiency, or disability.”

New technology will be brought into the classrooms by way of 84 new computers to help accelerate innovative programs and improve the graduation rate and overall academic performance of students with disabilities.  This generous endeavor will promote the capability for our students’ prospects of graduating on time and transition into their next steps in life.

The importance of collaboration is a key to success for the future of our children.  We appreciate the support of community partners.  Thank you to Terence G. Blackwell, Jr., BCBA President and CEO of Chimes Foundation and his Board of Directors, as the newest TEAM BCPS partners and ambassadors to the foundation.  We are grateful for this new partnership as we explore new ways to support our students.

The Education Foundation also extends its appreciation to Dr. York Bradshaw, Grants Specialist, BCPS Office of Research Accountability and Assessment for his support in the application process.

Note: The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools works in collaboration with several business partners throughout the community to promote funding for BCPS.
