Throughout the year, individuals spread kindness in many ways supporting students and schools, and we can’t thank them enough for their generosity. But this time of year is a particularly special time where our community partners celebrate and share kindness with others. Learn how the sisters of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority at Stevenson University and Woodbrook Baptist Church congregation members partnered with us to reach out to those in need. Read more.

A weekly memo from the superintendent

unnamed (2)

Throughout the school year, I take as many opportunities as possible to interact with students, to learn what most concerns them, and to share my school experiences with them. This week, I have the honor of addressing our Leadership Summit for Young Men in High School. For the past three years, we have alternated offering this professional learning opportunity to our male or female high school students. This week’s summit will welcome Dr. Mark Bedell as keynote speaker. Dr. Bedell is a former BCPS assistant superintendent who is now the superintendent of Kansas City Public Schools in Missouri.

As the year winds down, please know how much I appreciate your involvement as a valuable member of Team BCPS. The crucial work of preparing every student for the future is only possible with the collective support of families, community members, business leaders, and local partners.

Thank you, and please enjoy a safe and joyous holiday.

Take care,

Dr. Dance
